Bangalore Among Top 8 Tech Innovation Clusters In The World

Bangalore: The IT capital of India, Bangalore, is featured among 8 largest technology innovation clusters in the globe by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Technology Review, reports Times Of India.

The magazine, Technology Review, defines the technology innovation cluster as the places with dense webs of interconnected technology companies, customers, and suppliers. It looks at four key factors that improve a cluster's chance of flourishing — strong IP protection, liberal immigration laws, entrepreneurial culture, and good weather, and uses Silicon Valley of U.S. as benchmark, which is strongest in all the four factors.

The other tech innovation clusters include, Silicon Valley, Boston, Israel, Beijing, and three government-supported ventures — Tech City in London, Paris-Saclay in France, and Skolkovo Innovation City, near Moscow.

The magazine notes that among the four factors, Bangalore’s good weather, which helps foster business culture of optimism and openness is the city’s strongest factor. It also noted that the city received $300 million in venture funding in 2012.
